Celebrating Moments That Brighten Your Day

Pause for a moment and wonder with me at the miracle of life. Imagine having all knowledge, and in your hands you open one of the oldest genealogies on earth—Genesis 10—and discover the very line from which your blood flows.

When a child is born, it’s like a seed planted deep in the soil of time. Something from you—your spirit, your fears, your joy, not just your genes—sets out on a road that stretches farther than your eyes can see.

And that child, well, they carry your dreams now, just like you carried your parent’s dreams.

Think about it: what aspirations did your parents have for you? Go back further before them. What aspirations did your grandparents have for them?

These hopes move through the years like a river that never stops, quietly flowing from one generation to the next. And now you are part of that river—just a part, not the whole.

You belong to something bigger than yourself.

My name is Robert Coss. I married Catherine Manogue in 1986. Together, we welcomed our first child in 1991, our second in 1993, our third in 1997, our first grandson in 2014. Now, as our growing number look around at each other, we find ourselves wondering: What binds us together? How far back does this river go? What stories lie buried in our past—how much joy, how much sorrow, how much triumph and heartache shaped who we are today?

This website, Cheerful Recollections, celebrates family—the reunions, the milestones, the laughter, the tears, the photographs, and the videos that mark our shared history. It’s a place to honor where we’ve been and dream about where we’re going. Here, we gather not just to remember but to create new memories, ensuring that the threads of our lives continue to weave forward into the future.
